Artisan Origins: Goudebou Refugee Camp, Burkina Faso

These crescent earrings are handcrafted by Malian refugees in Burkina Faso, with a hammered copper exterior, clad with a rouge leather interior.


  • Made from copper and leather in Burkina Faso.


  • 3 x 2 cm. 

Care Instructions:

  • Copper may tarnish with oxidation and exposure to moisture. To polish, simply use a wedge of lemon and wipe along the surface with a small cotton towel.

  • Use leather conditioner or a little vegetable oil, in order to keep the leather interior from drying.

The GOUDEBOU earrings are handcrafted by a group of artisans from the Tuareg community of northern Mali, who are currently refugees in Burkina Faso. 

This collection preserves age-old artisan techniques, fusing artisanal leather with hammered metals.
