We’re recruiting our first full-time hire in the U.K. — a passionate Creative Associate. We’re looking for an adaptable and creative individual, who will work directly with our Founder.
Artisan & Fox is on a mission is to be the world’s premier artisan marketplace for the Majority World, guided by the values of ethics, transparency and sustainability. You will be working closely in marketing, branding, and events, in showcasing the extraordinary human stories behind our craftsmanship on offer.
A mix of creative and analytical skills is appreciated, and a passion for social impact is essential. You are an empathetic thinker and do-er with a global perspective. You care deeply both about local and global issues, understand the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and appreciate traditional craft, contemporary design and the convergence of cultures.
Your responsibilities include:
Formalizing partnerships and organizing events: Assisting in pitching for new partnerships and deepening artisan liaison networks. Artisan & Fox is currently a member of the Aspen Institute's Artisan Alliance and the UNHCR #WithRefugees Coalition. You will also be hosting events for our pop-up concept stores.
Strategizing in marketing and branding: Strategizing on our growth through social media and offline marketing, figuring the best way to showcase an authentic, on-brand voice by sharing our values and our work with our artisan partners.
Content creation in our newsletters, blog articles and general copywriting: We seek to preserve cultural heritage and traditional techniques by evolving it with contemporary design, all the while working directly with local makers to ensure their culture is not mis-appropriated.
Assist in general administrative work: As our first hire in the U.K., you will also need to involve yourself in ground and e-commerce operations, and helping to lead or assist in trade shows, meetings with NGOs/artisan organisations, engaging in customer service, and even logistical support with packaging orders if needed. This will form approx. 30% of your time with Artisan & Fox.
Ability to work flexibly, with possibility of remote work and travel opportunities to visit our partner artisans in Kenya, Nepal, Guatemala, Mexico or Vietnam.

The role is for a full-time basis, beginning with a 3-month contract. Pro-rata salary est. £20-24k per annum. Interviews begin April with a May/June start.

We’re on the look-out for jewellery designers based in the U.K. who are interested in designing new collections with our artisans in Afghanistan, Myanmar, and Kenya.
Our design ethos is rooted in anthropology with a modern aesthetic; we believe in elevating artisans’ craftsmanship and helping them move up the value chain by bridging traditional techniques with modern, culturally inspired designs.
The design process will be remote. You are expected to liaise with our London team as well as our artisans through video-calls, with the added opportunity for travel to work in-person with the makers; though travel is not essential and not guaranteed.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with diverse artisans globally, and help shape the extraordinary human stories behind our global craftsmanship.
